French winter tour

We are pleased to confirm the news that the band are taking their Classic Collection across the Channel and have a French tour lined up later this year. Similar to their last major French tour in late 2015, the itinerary consists of nine gigs in total across the country from late November through to early December. It includes a Paris show at La Cigale, a venue which they last visited back in 2007 and a stone’s throw from the La Folie steps of Montmartre.

The tour starts in Annemasse on 22nd November, then visits Lyon (23rd) and Paris (25th). Heading west, Le Havre is next on 27th, then across to Brest on the 28th and on to Nantes (29th) and Tours (30th). Into December, the last two dates are Bordeaux on the 2nd and finally Blaye (near Toulouse) on the 3rd. Tickets go onsale today and links will follow soon…

The event is organised by the Scottish independent craft beer brewery and takes place on Saturday 8th April at the AECC. Sadly, admission is only available to shareholders in Brewdog (or ‘Equity Punks’ as they’re known) so tickets aren’t available to the general public.

Green Day Hyde Park guests

We can now reveal that The Stranglers complete the lineup at the Green Day gig in Hyde Park on Saturday 1st July, which is part of the British Summer Time series of open air shows in the iconic London park. The band will be topping the bill in the huge tent prior to Green Day taking the main stage, as they did with The Police back in 2008. Fellow punk survivors The Damned are also on the bill as well as a host of other bands including Rancid & The Hives. It promises to be a memorable day…

Classic Collection tour intro music

Baz, JJ, Dave & Jim were asked to pick some of their favourite songs to make the intro playlist for the current tour. As you would expect, they selected a very eclectic and mixed group of songs, from ELO to The Rolling Stones and Roxy Music to the Kaiser Chiefs. There are some really surprising choices in the list and some well known influences too. For your listening pleasure, we have created a Spotify playlist here where you can listen to the forty tracks that they chose. The big question is who chose which tracks?
